New right back...

New right back...

Postby james456 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 5:29 pm

I really think its Darren Moss from Shrewsbury.

He's rejected a contract offer there and will sign for another club soon.

28 years old, experienced, has played in league one. Sounds just like the player described in the Visitor. Shrewsbury fans seem to rate him and their boss is disappointed he's leaving.

He might as well sign for us then, a team that will finish in the top half ;)

well if we do get him i just hope SM doesn't destroy him by making it awkward playing him out of position on the left

when he'll be wanting to make a good impression at a new club in his preferred position "right back"

If and it's a big 'if' he is the one, then his lack of attacking play (NOTE: According to the Shrews board) goes somewhat against what I thought Sammy was looking for.

I thought he wanted a more defensive player?
Anyway, he's a player already in our league and the fans of his old club are actually sad to see him go (well mostly). Havn't had that for a while.

Some Lincoln fans seem to think he is going to sign for them.

Could be a great signing by Sammy.

Darren Moss 'if' he signs will be an excellent addition. Personally, I think he is coming to us but thats just my opinion. He has been a real servant to Shrewsbury where he signed in 2001 from Chester. He scored the winning penalty which took the Shrews to the Conference final at the Brittania Stadium, which they then won. He went to Crewe for £170,000 in 2005 but due to an injury struggled to get too many games. He once again returned to Shrewsbury and has been a regular in the side since. He was a regular Welsh U21 and because of his excellent work rate this season Simpson offered him a 12 month contract but on reduced terms however at 28 I presume he wants a bit more security and 'if' Mossy does sign for us I would imagine he has been offered a 2yr contract and that would be his only reason for moving away from Shrewsbury. Hell of an acheivement if he signs. Wonder if Stu D was involved in someway ;)
