Wasn't it a scorcher at either Slough or Hayes one year, and Tony Johnston fell asleep in the heat lying down on the concrete steps?

agree the Woking game was damn hot but I think Margate away on that Bank Holiday Monday was hotter. Supporters coach arrived at half time, Andy Hollings ended up dehydrated. Last time we played Margate in Margate I think.

So how did that work out then?

Seem to remember Woking on the opening day of the season being roasting about 10-12 years ago. The open end where the North Stand is now was like a sun terrace with both sets of fans sunning it up with very little clothes on!

Saw a Zinedine Zidane exibition match in Chiang Mai last year played in the middle of the day in blistering heat. I sweated buckets that day and I was just stood watching. ZZ looked like he was going to passout on the pitch. No wonder Thailand hasn't got a much of a footy team!

Tony Johnson fell asleep on the open terrace at Hayes in the first 5 minutes, but he had consumed the odd shandy.
Jacko scored on his third and final "debut" in a Shrimps shirt, Tone woke up in the second half wearing a Woking shirt, his bare chest was half red and half white :D
Frisnit Frisnit!!

Margate at Dover opening game of the season - so hot Andy Gouck lost 2 stone in sweat just walking on the pitch and he still weighed more than the rest of the team combined!!

Blagged my then boss that it would be a cultural experience for my German students - sat them in a minibus and drove from Oxford to Dover got their just in time for kick off - walked around Dover after the match - it was shut - bought them all fish and chips at the worst chippy I've ever been too - got back on the bus and drove them all back to oxford - man they just don't get English humour!
Its all in the hips.
