Well done to all involved. It was a well ground out result. For once it was us taking advantage of defensive errors and sticking our chances away.
COME ON YOU MORECAMBE REDS.

I was worried that we were going to sit too deep after the substitution, and thought if Stott was coming on, Paul Lewis may have been a better one to make way, but we looked much more solid. That's why I'm a fan, not a manager! 8-) 8-)

Agreed, it was a good finish to get to the ball, but the defence should never have let it get through. Second goal, the keeper should have saved it.

But, they made the mistakes and we didn't. Job done and a clean sheet :D :D :D

1 massive difference is we have a much stronger bench than a few weeks ago ..we can make changes and bring on experience makes a massive difference

Don't know about anyone else but Luke Hendrie is looking like player of the year he just does his business week in week out

Despite an atrocious pitch both teams somehowmanagedto provide an entertaining game but not sure if the pitch can cope with 2 more games this coming week. With therece t groundsman no longer with club it looks a though it's a crew of youngsters looking after the pitch.

Playerforme who I had reservations about before the game was our latest incumbent in the goals Schofield. He was for me man of the march. Hope he continues to play like he did today against 2 upcoming reams who will provide a stiffer test than Accrington.

The times we have played better and got nothing!! I agree a scrappy game, we rode our luck and took our luck and about time.
It keeps us in touch with 3 or 4 other teams, we have to get points out of the next two home games, the more the better, (I’d like to be 30 points and if we play a bit better, why not!), then we can be in a good position in the last bakers dozen games.

Big shout out to Macadam today I thought he was immense. (+ Dackers and Garner in a cameo for 15 mins, playing off each other and putting themselves about).
COYS don’t give up.

That’s 30 points in total with a win and a draw in the next two home games.

Nothing better than beating that lot and putting Brannan in his place!

I hope the Trust do manage to get some atmosphere behind the goal because it was poor yesterday. Accrington had plenty of flags and struggled to make any noise on their day out.

The player for me who is so much improved is Hendrie. Last few games he's been excellent. Captain performance yesterday, and an assist.

Paul Lewis deserves a mention. He gets a bit of stick but he did well away at Notts County and he put in a performance yesterday. It will probably go unnoticed but his work rate in the middle and the important defensive work he did was brilliant. Watch the 2nd goal again. Accrington are on the break but Lewis puts a massive effort in, wins the ball back and the rest is history. All that after 88mins in a local derby and on a mud heap of a pitch.

I’d add a shout out for Marcus Dackers too, he did well off the bench and was very effective in using his body well, winning free kicks and getting us up the pitch. I’ve thought for a while that he might be better as a super sub to throw the oppositions game plan into disarray.

I'd agree, he looked massive jogging in to the middle yesterday, not a good sight for a tired defender.

Bit late on this, but thought this was probably the first win we've had this season that was largely down to us having better players.

Accrington had a bit of joy in the first half but ultimately didn't capitalise - partly helped by a great save from Schofield and some stoic defending from our backline. Thought we tightened up in the second half, and were clinical when their defence had a couple of floppy moments.

Performance wise, not quite the levels that we've hit in previous weeks, but we dug in well and the quality we've added/had return to the squad showed in the end. We can't/won't be on top in every game we play from now, so it's good to see we're now better equipped to get a result in those tighter/trickier games.

Great to be able to have good bench to rely on as well, which I thought Derek utilised well.
