Time for our luck to change and team selection

Lady Luck has not been kind to us this season and our points total doesn't reflect how well on occasions we have played. It's time for fortune to start smiling on us and help us collect some valuable points. It's also time in my opinion for changes to the team. I know Dackers scored a neat header against Fleetwood but one goal scored in 20 plus games is an awful return for a centre forward. He struggles to finish and in the course of the season he has missed a lot of chances and doesn't look a natural finisher. There is a reason why Salford have let us have him all season. I also think we have to look at the goalkeeping. Burgoyne looks a good shot stopper but he has a weakness against crosses. he stays rooted on his line. His handling sometimes looks shaky. Lets bring Moore back if he is fit or give Schofield a chance. We are getting to the sharp end of the season and a change in Lady Luck and the team selection is needed if we are to survive imo.

re Dackers
Somewhat ironic that on the commentary from Newport it sounded as though Dackers was very active and but for some excellent goalkeeping could have easily had 2 goals which in previous games there was little if any mention of him.

Wonder if there will be another free agent to sign for us in the coming days.... ;) :?: :?:

Dackers has had 2 very good games. We don't beat Fleetwood without his contribution and he could have easily had 3 against Newport. He has looked more of a threat and has been involved in a lot of good things. I think it has become easy for people to dig him out which is a shame because he has improved.

I'm ok with a change of Keepers. Harry is so poor at commanding his box and defenders which creates countless problems in a game. Yep, he makes some good saves but as Roy Keane says...

Agree Dackers has done well in the past couple of games. Thwarted by some great saves from headers at Newport, and the big positive for me was the way he really attacked those crosses - maybe a confidence boost after his goal at the weekend? Can't remember him going at crosses like that in any other games this season before to his goal. Interesting that he mentioned in his interview this week about feeling more able to stay in the width of the box and get onto crosses (rather than hold-up/run the channels) now he's got a bit more support. I also think the chance he's missed prior to the Newport goal is a little trickier than it looks - can see on the slowed down replay on iFollow it's a bit under his feet.

Does all this mean his place is secure? No, Angol being available again puts his place under threat for sure. But he's done well the past couple of games. I wouldn't have an issue with him starting if Derek is inclined that way, then with the option of Angol off the bench.

On the goalkeeper issue, it's ultimately pretty hard to say who Derek should go with between Burgoyne/Schofield. Reports on Schofield from other clubs aren't stellar, but on the flip side that was Champ/L1 level.

I've said for a long time, Dackers needs someone (or two) playing close to him. He's had two matches where that happened and could easily have had three or four. Their keeper pulled off two superb saves to keep him out.

I'd also suggest that Lewis provides a better supply for Dackers. I'd either start with both, or, bring both on as subs at the same time.

So how did that work out then?

id just like Andy Dallas playing more central, because he’s our best finisher and he’ll get more chances playing there.

Any team whose main striker has scored one goal in 20 plus games is in relegation trouble. However, all would be forgiven if Dackers went on a scoring run that keeps us in the EFL!!!

Scholdfield in, Williams back, P Lewis in and Angol up front.
