The lads beat Carlisle 8-0 in this afternoon's game at Penrith.

Nearly all the first team squad got a run out BUT Charlie Brown was taken off early in the first 45.

Who decided to play the academy. Not only is it an embarrassment of a result, think of the confidence it has brought a relegation rival scoring 8 goals in a game.

Off after 26 min with us 2-0 up   :o
Either he's picked up a knock, or he's being embarrassed deliberately. Not often you hope it is an injury.

No bookings all game? We couldn't have been trying ;)

I hope Dakers doesn't decide that 3 goals is enough for one season.

I know it was sarcasm, but I really hope this gives him some confidence going into real matches. Scoring two in open play, plus a penalty, in 45 minutes should give him a boost.

From what Derek said at the weekend it seems Derek may have got a reaction from him, (it was mentioned he has not scored in 20 games, by Derek). If he is to not be sent back in January to Salford, he has the next four games to bring that sort of finishing to his game other wise he might go back, we will see.

The Carlisle team was basically their Academy......BUT when we play Chelsea the difference in quality could be huge.....so I'm expecting a scoreline of circa 5-0.... ;)

Yesterdays game means nothing.. We beat a team of kids (don't think Carlisle had 1 first team playing in the team)

Might give Dackers a bit of confidence that's about all

I wonder why Derek had most of our first team playing? Was he trying to say something to the players?

I hope a few others will have a confidence boost. Winning games is about winning, not the opposition. Getting that winning feeling is always a good thing.

A kick up the arse or a confidence boost, or both? I suspect, both. They needed to get a winning mentality again.

I think you're right Keith. There was obviously a good reason or Derek wouldn't have risked anyone getting injured in a minor game like that.
