..as it stands...

Considering......we have played 10 of the top 12 teams.
... the hastily assembled squad
... injuries to key players
... the bad luck/poor refs we had in the first 5 1-0 defeats
...we have taken 10 points from our last 10 Lge 2 matches and won 3 cup matches.

There is another 31 matches to play...... 11 wins, 7 draws, 13 losses will take us to 50 pts...
...should be enough.

I'm still very positive.

At least it gets easier next week...

If we can now get a run going, as we play some bottom half-sides, I think we can still dig out of trouble. I still don't understand why Brown can't get any game time, but otherwise, with players coming back from injury [hope Moore isn't joining the injury list] we could have a decent squad.

I'm still very positive too! :D

As Derek says, the team spirit is good. We still seem to lack quality in quite a few areas but I agree we've had some tough games against the better teams up to now. Let's see where we are by the New Year as we should pick up quite a few points before then.

In respect of Brown I don’t understand supporters obsession with him. He scored a couple of goals last backend but that doesn’t make him a first team shoe in this season. Derek has forgotten more about football than most of us will ever know. He sees the players every day and is best placed to select a team who are likely to get us a result. If Brown isn’t in the squad then I’m sure there are good reasons why and I don’t think we should be made privy to them.

Yeah, but without speculation and opinion, where would football supporters be???

For me, it's simply that having a problem with goal scoring, it is odd that we have a goal scorer who can't get near the pitch. In eleven games, Dakers has not scored and has just one assist. He works hard, and gets pulled all over the pitch, but one assist and no goals is not a good return from a forward. Brown had a few minutes in a Bristol Street Motors game and got a goal.

Sorry but agree with Phoenix. CB is our player, 1st to re sign on the dotted line etc etc but Derek knows his team, he sees them on training every day, he knows who’s fit, who’s not fit, who’s fitness levels are where he wants them and who’s are not, he knows who’s got the right or wrong temperament, I would rather trust our manager than pure gossip. As for the Bristol street Trophy well that speaks volumn, DA rested some and brought on fringe players and CB did ok. A strikers job in DA teams is not all about scoring but bringing others into play such as Williams lately. A striker will always be well marked so if Dackers can take 2 out of the game it leaves space for others

It’s not so much that Charlie Brown is a world beater but more that our other forwards are so poor that there’s nothing to lose in giving Brown a run.

Our other centre forwards; Dackers, Angol and Hope have scored two goals between them all season. If Brown can’t get a game under the current circumstances then we might as well accept that he’ll never play and just pay up his contract.

Probably haven't got enough money to do that.

Totally agree about the speculation and opinion Keith! That's what makes this forum so good (and thanks for running it over the years by the way). I look at this forum as being for the more mature supporters. (certainly in the case of RR and BM LOL). I am 65 but am a mere stripling compared to them.
I look at it like this. We all have our opinions and sometimes we agree to disagree but if we ever all met in the pub we'd have several pints together and be the best of mates in pursuit of a common cause. Long live Shrimps Voices!

To get to 20+ points by Christmas is still where I think we need to be, then hopefully a better second half to the season. As said we need to finish 22nd or above and up near 50 points and we will be secure.
