Buyers keeping quite!

Buyers keeping quite!

Postby Billy bodger » Sun Oct 27, 2024 11:03 am

I posted this as part of another topic.

The bigger worry for me is that the prospective buyers are also keeping quiet, WHY? Why are they in this secretive pact with JW? We as fans if the takeover happens, will just be landed with new unknown owners!! I think we all want to know who they are, is it them who failed last time? Because that is not a change of ownership, its a continuation of the same type of ownership Morecambe FC sadly seem to get.

Are others worried over the buyers also being silent by being in this secretive pact with JW.
Is that why there is wide spread belief that there is no new buyer?
Is it because if the fans knew who the buyers were the prospect of increased protests would happen?
Even getting to a level where the Club is damaged by it.

IF and it's a big IF there are prospective buyers in the process of getting EFL Approval I can in some ways understand their logic of remaining silent until a deal is done. Whether the BoDs are aware of their identity only they will know, but by exposing themselves may insight opposition from some fans which is probable whoever the buyer is and from their perspective they don't want any hostilities while the process is underway.

Also any negative reaction from the fans during the process may have an unfavourable reaction by the buyers leading to them questioning their wish to purchase OUR club.

As to whether they are a mirror of JW is unknown and only time will tell BUT if they are genuine and want to purchase OUR club and invest in both the team and infrastructure then excellent. Until such a deal is completed (assuming that there is a deal to be done) we the fans and backbone of OUR club will remain in the shadows of the unknown...... :?: :?: :?:

I'm convinced there is/are a buyer/buyers and that they have connections to Sarbjot even if he is not officially one of them. Others can keep hoping for a benign buyer if they want to but this isn't one!

They have put their heads above the parapet and had a meeting with the Board of Directors of Morecambe FC, unfortunately that’s as far as they have gone. So it still an ongoing secretive pact, really isn’t it!!

Maybe this is a ray of sunshine in the gloom.....but I sometimes think that what ever is posted by the board there's always someone that preaches doom and gloom...

A knee jerk reaction from the owner/BOD after the trust announced possible action. Nothing new for me & I hope we move forward with action. This has been dragging on far far too long and during it all the club is being dragged down the gutter and as it stands we are going down and I highly suspect we will never return to the EFL ever again and little old Morecambe is back! Getting rid of that tag seems such a long time ago now

If it is Sarbjot or associates it's hard to take their bid seriously purely down to the fact that they can't or won't comply with what the EFL require. Haven't they been down this road before last year with identical issues. I can only think that it's either 1/ Not a serious bid or 2/ It's a cack handed effort at acquiring a sports business and they are embarrassed at putting their names to it and want to avoid all the flack which would inevitably come their way with their handling of the process.

In the unlikely event that it's an as yet unknown buyer then it is a little mystifying as to why they want anonymity. Most buyers of football clubs are out there in the media and their identity is known well in advance.

I fear we're living on false hopes yet again. :?

Exactly! Any well intentioned buyer would be wanting to have a good rapport with the fans through the Trust. These are the cronies of Sarbot trying it on again. I assume the EFL have to go through the 'fit and proper' procedure again as it is not Sarbjot even though it has links to him. I have zero hopes of us getting a decent owner with this lot.

J**** C*****......there are complaints when the BoDs provide no update but when they do those same fans are not satisfied....

I have been involved in at least 2 takeovers / buy outs of former companies and on both occasions staff at very serious management positions knew nothing about the takeovers until the deal was signed sealed and delivered.

It is the potential owner (s) prerogative to remain unknown until any deal is completed and after some of the negative comments about JW ( including from myself) I for one respect and understand their wishes.

I am grateful to our BoDs for the recent posting on the OWS and note that it was the potential owner(s) representative that opened a dialogue with our BoD and NOT the actual potential owner. That suggests to me that it was either a solicitor or accountant of the potential owner who wanted to clarify our clubs position on the sale so that they could provide an independent assessment of any future deal which for me is a logical process to undertake.

When one considers the reaction on this forum to previous potential owners is it any wonder that whoever the new owner may be wishes to remain anonymous until any deal is completed.

Let the parties concerned continue to negotiate in their preferred way and trust our BoDs to communicate identities as when when they are allowed to do so.

As frustrating as it may be after months of speculation surely we can wait a wee bit longer for a successful conclusion to any negotiations..... :?: :?: :?:

One thing we can be sure of now is that the Board know who the potential buyers are.
