Played all my crazy golf on the course between the Swimming Baths and the Boating Lake too, and a bit of Swing Boating.....great times as a youngster then, always safe, and always plenty to do simply by using innocent imagination.
A natural progression from crabbing, for me at least, was sea fishing from the end of the Stone Jetty long before the flood defences and the jetty being extended.
As for the crazy golf, that progressed to pitch-n-putt at a course on a large open grassed field along the prom between Sandylands and Heysham.
Happy and safe days, which are sadly a distant memory.
