..and the best of British.....IF you can get any information that is TRUE and not just an exercise to pacify those of us concerned about the lack of action then excellent.

BUT actions speak louder than words and his record to date has been full of empty promises so let's hope that this leopard has changed his spots.

My worry is that this could be a meeting that potentially has a lot to offer BUT is just another negative tactic by JW to prolong the mounting concerns by the lack of action on his part.

Payroll day on Tuesday which could be a defining moment.

Are they actually meeting him in person or is it a video call ?

Hope they ask him about the VAT issue? I'm sure it's down to him moving money around between companies.

Yes , that's how I interpret the meeting.

They are inviting questions to JW but they have to be relevant. I can't think of one really because like everyone I just want him to sell.

Well done to the members of the Trust for getting this arranged.

I'm guessing it will be a virtual meeting and part of me wonders what the point is, seen as Jason is deemed to be a liar by our own Board.

Still lets wait and see what we get from him, I've sent in a question, hopefully those involved can let us all know how Jason presented himself. A lot can be told through body language and eye contact.

I know the Trust get some stick from a few because they believe they don't do enough.
I can assure everyone that those
Working behind the scenes are putting their heart and soul into this.
What will come from this meeting nobody knows but its the first time Jason has agreed to meet us. We will go through every question and break them down into a few so we are not going over the same ground.
Make no doubt about it. We will be ready.

Hard to say what will come of it but it's better than doing nothing. Appreciate that the trust have gone to the effort of arranging it.

Interesting that he has agreed to it now. He knows he will be pelted with a lot of tough questions so the optimist in me says he may have something positive to offer from his side. Whether that is to say a sale will be sorted soon or he has provided proof of funds to the board which means a budget for the season can be set.

Off the top of my head I'd like to see the following hit:

1. Is a sale imminent?
2. Why has the process gone on over 20 months?
3. Does he accept his asking price has been too high?
4. What happened between himself and Sarbjot Johal?
5. Can he offer any assurances that wages will be paid on time?
6. Can he provide proof of funds to provide a budget for the upcoming season?

Is it possible for the meeting to be recorded, so we can see the whites of his eyes? Presumably this would be easier if the meeting is taking place online.

Firstly I award top marks to the Trust for arranging this meeting and for asking their membership for questions to be asked. As we know for a meeting to be successful it takes a bit of openness and honesty on both side and we can only hope for that

Secondly I hope those who are asking questions on here are already members of the Trust. If not....why not? ;)

He will see the meeting with the Shrimps Trust as a publicity coup for himself.

I have just read on a website to do with rugby the following, if what is being said it’s true it’s worrying.

The Bond Group Sixways Ltd, JW is a director, has just received its sixth striking of notice on Companies House.

Accounts two months late and a Gazette Notice will be published on the 28th May!!

The Bond Group Investments Ltd that owns Morecambe FC, JW it’s sole Officer, soldiers on.

Looking at Companies House info it seems to be true!

Interesting development. Who knows what he will say, but I suspect his motivation would be assure fans that the club will continue to tick over whilst he continues to look for a buyer.

I suspect since the wages were paid late and Ged left that season ticket sales have been non existent and he'll need folk to start buying them to give enough budget to hire a manager and assemble a squad.

Perhaps he also wants to tell his side of the story of the deteriorating relationship with the board?

Hope it doesn't turn out the same way for us

Is Jason coming to the Mazuma if he knows where it is or all this going to be done online

Can't imagine Jason bothering to come all the way to Morecambe. Almost certainly on line.

It suggests to me there is no sale imminent, if there was, why bother with us?
In which case, he's not taking the Boards advice, and accepting the 'realistic' offer.
In which case, does the Board's position become untenable?
In which case, who would run the football club?
In which case...

Strangely, despite calling for better communication and to stop keeping fans in the dark, somehow this development makes me feel more uneasy rather than reassured.

Yup, I think its a return to the cycle of last season. Pull the funding, try and force a sale through, fail, make a U-turn and give the club a realistic budget to compete and get fans spending again. Then race to pull together a team, do OK, then run out of funds again and repeat.

He won't sell for less than what it takes to clear his own liabilities, so he will keep searching...

I can't get excited about this. He's only agreed to the meeting to put across his point of view, not really listen to ours, and we can't trust what he says anyway - he's about as honest as Doris & Trump.

It might be the World Straw Clutching Championships but maybe Mr Whittingham has agreed to this meeting because he has something positive to tell the fans.

I would think if we were no further along the road that he would avoid contact with hostile parties especially as he is based many miles away so unlikely to encounter any MFC fans in his day to day life.

I reckon he will be wanting to put his side of the story forward and dismiss what the BoD's said about him in their statement. He wants the attention, any attention is good attention for people like him. I am starting to think that he is a few butties short of a picnic.

I'd much rather he got on with a sale than try and engage with the Trust because he doesn't like what was said about him.
