Season 2000-2001

After high the previous season (99-00) of 3rd the club finished just 2 points above the relegation zone of the Conference and narrowly missed relegation. The following season the club bounced back and finished much higher.

As we face potentially being relegated to league two this season, it is important to put into perspective what could have happened if we had gone down that season.

That was still a good season with the club reaching the FA Cup third round and playing Ipswich of the Premiership in front of a full house and the MOTD cameras. Football is full of ups and downs. We are still fighting and whatever happens we keep backing the team. COYS

That was the real perspective to take. Ipswich were third in the Premier League, behind Manchester United & Arsenal. Now we're playing Ipswich as peers. How times change. Well, not for Arsenal, obviously, they are still second, but for the rest of us.

(Yes, I know, second after City play their games in hand).

So how did that work out then?
