The rest of the season

The rest of the season

Walking away from the Globe I got talking to an Ipswich fan. He found it hard to understand how we were bottom of the league. He said we had given them a harder game than Sheffield Wednesday! Call me unduly optimistic but if we can take the skill and hard work we showed yesterday into the rest of the season I think we can survive. Obviously we would need a decent break from the referees- something we haven’t had so far this season when the refereeing has generally been awful. Many of the referees particularly yesterday’s should still be in local parks learning their trade!

The table doesn't lie. We didn't play like we did yesterday, in too many of the previous games. If we'd shown that attacking intent against Shrewsbury, Fleetwood, Accrington, Bristol Rovers, etc, then we'd have more points. But we didn't, so we haven't.

We've still got time, but we've given everyone else a head-start. Get our act together and play like yesterday, and we'll pick up points. Aim for 1-0 wins against our fellow 'have-nots' and we'll be heading for League Two by Christmas.

So how did that work out then?
