All costs and revenues are split 45/45/10% to the home team/away team/FA - so I don't really see the problem. Yes there is a cost that Spurs incur every game for VAR, which will effectively be apportioned to MFC evenly on this occasion.... but given the options of:

A: Tottenham host the game, £666kish gate receipt net of VAT (£20*40,000), less expenses (one of which is VAR at circa £9k), split 45% to the Shrimps

B: Morecambe host the game, £92kish gate receipts net of VAT (£20*5500), less expenses (one of which would not have been VAR), split 45% to the Shrimps

Overall, option A is infinitely better for us! We'll probably net between £250k-£500k from this fixture vs less than £50k if we hosted.... plus we get to go to one of the best stadiums in Europe (second time for me, touchdown! ). Less of the phony outrage please

£5,000 and for that we are at the mercy of Michael Sailsbury who is in charge of it for the day
Still never seen a softer straight red card than that given to Alex Kenyon back in the day. Hopefully Mr Sailsbury has mellowed nowadays. I've still never forgiven him for that totally unwarranted red card for Alec.

I agree Marky. Michael Salisbury's decision to send off Alex when he was being trampled on a few years ago was an awful decision and led to fans paying Jimbo's fine when he was sent to the stands. He is not a good referee although to be fair the last time he reffed at the Mazuma he had a decent game. I have no doubt on Sunday he will favour the home team in his decisions- a lot of referees seem to get promoted by favouring the "big teams" in games. His appointment seems a strange decision as he comes from Preston!

An added fee if we had staged it would probably have been TV fees (plus those of us not going could have watched it)
