I love your optimism Freez and I hope you are right. The signs are not good unless we can sign 4 or 5 new players. What worries me is most of the signings in the summer were not League 1 standard. Are we going to sign more of the same in the window?

Not saying the summer signings were 'panic buys', but certainly, a new manager having to sign about 18 players in the space of three weeks after being appointed, was always an incredibly difficult task. Robbo and the backroom team have now had months to identify targets and research them fully. The challenge in January, is everyone else has also had time to evaluate potential signings, so still not 'easy' but far better position than in the last summer.

So how did that work out then?

Haha, you’re not gonna let that drop are you Andy. :D
TBF, it was always Quinny I spoke to, and even he doesn’t get to know until it’s announced now, so we are scuppered! :o

Alex Gogic from Hibernian is the latest name to be linked with us. A midfielder.

Alan Nixon who tweets about transfers says we are trying for an experienced centre back.

I hope that is Paul Huntingdon from PNE.

Huntington has been a class act at Deepdale and a natural leader. He hasn't played regularly for a couple of seasons though, so he'll be short of match fitness wherever he goes. Nonetheless, he would be almost certainly a great signing either on loan or otherwise, especially if he stays fit (though who can ever be totally sure!?)
