Ideally anybody we do sign has EFL1 experience but that may be difficult as whoever is available would probably be playing regularly already or more probably just part of a squad and unable to get game time because of the form of those in front of him.

The French guy Cedric Kipre has been out on loan and returned to West Brom so it may be that SR is looking at him as a potential loan player.....assuming that the rumour has a hint of truth; exactly the same with Ricky at Motherwell who I posted MAY be on our shopping list.

BUT for me we need new players used to the physical side of EFL football and NOT Development Squad players only used to U23 football which we all know is not that physical.

Also some speculation at Motherwell that we could also be interested in one of their targets.

I would agree that two or three lads who can cope with the physical side would be better at this stage but I also think that a bit more speed of thought is required. I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the quality shown by teams in this division - it certainly isn't the harum scarum bullyball of twenty years past. It seems to me that the Shrimp midfield and defence don't read the game quickly enough at times and opposition players with a good touch and more experience of it catch them out too easily.

That said, whoever arrives from wherever and stops Morecambe being the leakiest team in five divisions will be totally welcome!

In any case I suspect that loan signings are more likely at this point.

First priority is an experienced leader in defence. Then probably take a punt on one or two youngsters from prem clubs on loan.

We might have to spend some money really, free agents and loans aren't going to be enough I don't think. The money we get from the Spurs game should be completely invested into signings.

Kipre would be a brilliant signing. I have heard James Norwood mentioned but don't know if there's any truth to that one at all.

https://the72.co.uk/258275/morecambe-se ... lex-gogic/

Another player based in Scotland with little experience of EFL football.

Thoughts of Gogic from Hibs fans

Interest in Gogic.

Players like Gogic, Wright etc need to be moved on, he had some decent games last season but is limited as has been seen this year. Freeing up wages is needed for the new manager to bring players in.

If our ball-playing centre mids are mobile, and don’t shirk out of tackles, we don’t need destroyer midfielder types like Gogic, and look better for it.

It Gogic goes, which might be his best choice if he wants first-team football, I wish him all the best.

I think it’s normally well worth having a destroyer type - but they’re for special occasions rather than every week, and they have to be content with that.

Possible interest in this Irish winger / striker... :?: :?: :?:
