Just one thing wrong with today ?

I really do wish Barry would go for the ball from corner kicks when its in the 6 yard box, he must be one of the tallest men on the pitch and with his reach im sure he would either catch the ball or punch it clear, but he always stays on his line and leaves it to the outfield players to deal with.

Yes Barry's saves are superb but I still don't think he isn't great at commanding his area.

I dont think it a case of pessimism it just critical comment. Every player in the lower league has areas of their game they can improve on otherwise they would be playing at a higher level. From my point of view I would rather have a keeper who is a good shot stopper than catcher, if the team sets up properly then there should be no reason for him to leave his line at set-pieces.

Have you all forgotten another crucial moment in the match? Never mind the "ball over the line" incident in the 2nd half, when we were 1-0 down in the first half defensive errors led to a shot from a Bradford player that went past Roche and I was looking to see it nestling in the bottom corner but amazingly Barry had just got a touch and it flew past the post. HOW DID HE SAVE THAT??? :) 2-0 down and we would have been finished :(

Earlier this season a few flew past Barry which I thought he could have maybe kept out due to his size alone.

I am now one of the many converts and think he is a top League 1/2 keeper. I also think he has gelled with our defence into a very effective unit. Maybe his confidence was destroyed at Chesterfield by the alleged abuse he received, but supported by our more relaxed fans he has upped his game as the season has progressed and now is maybe on a par with the great Joe Lewis.

As for coming off his line, some keepers do, some don't. Scotty Loach was on loan to us and appeared rooted to his goal line, but he's progressed to a few Championship appearances for Watford this season.

Good Luck Barry. Stick with us on our rise up the leagues!!

Hey calm down im not having a go at Barry, i think we have a brilliant keeper, his shot stopping is top notch but i just wish he would dominate his 6 yard box a bit more.

Joe made another mistake yesterday for Posh....cost them two points. Seems to have made a few this season. To me this matters not, he is still a great keeper. Would he have made that mistake in a Morecambe shirt?

I think playing here is a great option for any player, especially young keepers. Its all a learning curve, but I think the relaxed atmosphere and encouragement players get from the fans at Christie must be a worthy and helpful experience for any player.

I think that we have got ourselves a gem in Barry. Considering he cost us nothing except possibly a signing on fee and that we were reportably prepared to pay a 6 figure fee for Joe, I know which of the two I'd prefer.

Barry if he continues in his present form will be a valuable asset to us in season(s) to come. Joe hasn't progressed as well as we all thought and has been prone to a few costly errors this season. He's good BUT will Barry overtake him in years to come when goalkeepers improve with age?

I think Barry comes for his fair share and has a good old punch when the mood takes him. No keeper is the complete package, so there's no way I'll criticise our player of the year.

As far as Joe Lewis is concerned, I'm sorry to see how this season's panned out for him personally, even though he might end up getting promoted. He's made a few mistakes, confidence has obviously been dented, and he's lost his U21 place. Ironically though, it looks like he might pass Norwich, his former parent club, on the way up as they go down!

No, considering Joe Lewis is 7 years younger! When he's 27 I'd be very surprised if he wasn't at least playing for major Championship side, if not Premier League.

A few years we might be seeing both keepers in action in the premier league, when we take on Posh at our new 100 thousand seater stadium at its new location on the link road from the M6 near the ferry port, by the aerodrome.

Joe Lewis seems to be making lots of mistakes for Peterborough but when he was with us he hardly made a mistake. I can only remember 1 mistake from him.

Another former Morecambe loanee going up in the world. Ryan McGivern on the bench for man city vs Fulham last night.

He was so much better than league two standard that lad.
