A full page interview with Barrow manager Ian Evatt in todays "Daily Mail".

A very interesting read if any anorak (MarkyNo1!) could put a link on.

It would be an absolute travesty if Barrow are not promoted into the Football League to replace Bury. They are clearly the best team in the National League this season and it would be a feel good story in these difficult days if they are back to league football after the way they were treated when voted out of the league. They deserve league football again and what a local derby for the Shrimps!

Harrogate Town might argue that point! Four points behind, with Barrow due to play at Harrogate and Harrogate in much better form than Barrow when football stopped...

I'd like to see Barrow back up because despite our rivalry, I always thought they were robbed when they were relegated from the Football League on the basis of geography rather than football. But the National League was far from being over.

So how did that work out then?

On Barrow, really fantastic podcast here from Tifo interviewing Ian Evatt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0f1g2693mU&t=298s

Great insight into his style of management and beliefs in how to get players playing the way he does. Also been watching some of their games and just noticed Patrick Brough has been playing at left centre back in a back three - and as noted by Evatt is doing the 'Sheffield United' trick of joining in attacks.

National leagues maybe sorted on thursday, after north/south maybe allowed to have play-offs to decide promotions after initially being told they could not! So if 2 go up from those divisions it looks like Fylde will be one of the relegated sides.

It'll be a strange one at both grounds, sadly the history has been blighted but maybe they'll be preoccupied by the Giants of Cumbria taking over their Town

No change, there are home and away fans on that terrace, separated by a fence obviously. The roof will just make sure more home fans stand there when it’s raining!! :D

Horrible ground. A few league 2 teams who haven't been there before will be in for a real shock.

It will be much improved by a cover over the home end. And to be fair the Ray Wilkie terrace is pretty good.
If we get lucky and fans are allowed back in when we play Barrow at the Globe, they will bring plenty, but police costs will escalate accordingly, but at least guaranteed a decent atmosphere.

The Premier league are putting £20000 in to help pay for the costs of the National league play-offs which will take place starting 18/19 July.
