Weather? Current updates please.

Weather? Current updates please.

Postby Phoenix Shrimp 2017 » Sat Jan 11, 2020 11:27 am

Just mulling over whether to set off from East Lancs for todays game. Weather forecast looks grim coming in from the West. Two questions. Is it raining there yet, chances of the game being off?

Currently dry here and gut feeling says it will be OK. We often worry about these things but games rarely get called off due to waterlogging.

Although wind and rain it's ok and the game should go ahead. Give yourself extra time for the Fulwood-Galgate M6 closure, or drive over via the Trough of Bowland.

Thanks Vinny!

Setting off soon. Usually do the trough anyway even when the M6 is open. Beautiful drive over there, usually the highlight of the day if the footballs poor!

Lancaster city centre is pretty clogged up with traffic coming off the M6 early (M6 badly queued at the diversion), so maybe avoid Lancaster too. Can you cut through Trough of Bowland to Caton/Halton to avoid the area around J32, Caton Road, etc?

Just windy, no rain yet. Wonder if Derek knows our historical failings in windy conditions.
Hope he has told the keeper(s) not to boot it into the sky, the conditions should be to our advantage not theirs
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Yep the Trough was a lot busier than usual and Lancaster was a mess with queues everywhere. Managed to get onto Caton Rd and came in on the new road. Anyway it was worth it. The previous six games I 've been to this season were six losses but things are looking up under Derek. Enjoyed the game against Oldham despite the loss and second half today thought we were value for the win but couldn't quite get there.

Anyway my previous feelings of what the hell have I driven all the way over here for to watch that tripe have gone under Dereks leadership and I'm starting to enjoy the football again so worth the journey up to now!

Strong winds and heavy rain forecast
best keep one eye on the website in case there is a late call off

Some football apps are saying that it’s been called off - not official yet though so good to go as far as I’m concerned...

Currently throwing it down in Storth but forecast suggests that by early evening it will be getting better.

Can't see any reason for game to be off unless the rain continues for bulk of the daylight hours when the pitch could be water logged.

Not even a mention of a pitch inspection, so presumably the club aren't concerned.

On BBC those are the only 3, and two of those are non-league so don't have the same resources.

Currently just light drizzle in Morecambe. Forecast suggests gradually drying up for match time.

I rang the Club - they said the ref hadn't arrived yet (4.20pm), but pitch looks OK at the moment, so they reckon it's likely to be on (barring heavy downpours before kickoff!).

Hope it's on as we need a win to give us confidence for the other games coming up. Non of them easy.
Been pouring down in South Devon since early morning and supposed to carry on until midnight :( Just been down the driveway with my dogs and it's mostly ankle deep in water and mud:o My job for tomorrow
