It was a season long loan, but Man U can always cut it short. Not sure if we'd get compensated if that happened, but it would free up wages presumably. Potentially changes things with Buxton...

That's why DA has brought Cooney in on loan from Burnley. Good Management for me in that he's not taking any chance of being left with no right full back.

So despite some uncalled sarcasm from one individual my post was more than valid......

Interesting one that. Head and shoulders the best player on the park when we won 2-1 at Oldham last season, looked a cut above L2. But obviously comes with risks attached. Presume he's bombed out at Plymouth, never seems to be in the squad anymore, that's if he is even still there?

Brilliant player but struggles to stay fit, if that hadn't been an issue he'd of been in the championship

Plymouth released him earlier in the season. He has been struggling with an injury so he went away to get fit.

Could be worth a punt if Derek is convinced he is fit and ready.

We have 21 games left and probably need 8 wins at least maybe more.

If as suggested by my 'mate' MrP that a further 3 signings are on the cards then a large number of the existing squad will be surplus to requirements.

If they do not leave then the squad will be circa 30+ in numbers, surely too large to fund and to manage.

If we do see the addition of a further 3 incomers who is going to fund all the additional costs? Is it as I suggested some time ago being funded by the owners now that JB is no longer with us OR have the new and most welcome Directors invested finances into or club and this is being used to pay for the additional bodies.... :?: :?: :?:

Assuming that the club has 7 new players in its squad, who of the existing squad can be sure ( :?: ) of their place in the starting 11 :?:

For me it would be Halstead, Lavelle, Carlos and Tanner assuming that he remains with us until the end of the season.

.....exciting times.... :?: :?: :?:

Derek will have surely brought in players that will play, not much point in leaving them on the bench, although maybe Slew won't be match fit
If it is 7, then I expect George will be leaving at some point and half the team that played last week will be absent

I would reduce your 4 to 1 and that would be Carlos. I think Lavelle will be sold , Tanner will be loaned elsewhere and Halstead could still be replaced by one of the "7".

The signing of new players, is as you say rr, “exciting.” As it is though, our recent form has shown serious improvement, without reaping the deserved(imo) points. A group of players giving it their all, playing for the shirt, each other, and themselves. Can the new blood, drop straight into the starting 11+ subs, and at least maintain the momentum, or as we all want, improve it? We have so little time left, it has to happen from match 1, a period to gel is something we don’t have. Total faith in DA, but it HAS to happen on the pitch, not on paper. The understandable “excitement,” and speculation of the fans, counts for nothing, until it does. “Mr Happy Clappy,” as I have been referenced, but I still can’t allow myself to indulge too much, until I see it on the pitch.

Let's assume that you are right, that means that sooner rather than later we are going to have an almost entirely new team who will need time to get to know each others style of play which will take time, time that we simply do not have.....replace 'exciting' with 'worrying'..... :?: :?: :?:

Virtually a whole new team then? Recipe for disaster at this stage imo, but I am definitely no football expert.

I was just commenting on RR's 4 survivors. I think there will be others such as O'Sullivan , A-Jay , Brewitt, Old that survive under Derek.

Misread by me and rr.
