O/T Walk to Lancaster and beyond

O/T Walk to Lancaster and beyond

A quick question please!

I've haven't lived in the area for years so am not sure about this. If I was on the Promenade, where is the nearest point where I could pick up the walk along the old railway line? I believe you can access it at the bridge on Westgate, but is there anywhere nearer the town centre?

It depends how long you've not been here. Parts of what is now the cycle track was once a railway line, so it depends where you want to get to I suppose.

If you're meaning from the old railway station which is now a pub I daresay it's best to go onto the path where Morrisons meets Frankie and Bennys. That will take you to Lancaster, the Lune Valley, and Glasson Dock.

If you turn right at the York hotel..it's well signposted as a cycleway.
