I trust the Board to get things sorted...hopefully sooner rather than later.

Rene's situation depends very much on if he wants to stay in the North, as well as 'Boro letting him go.

There's no way he's worth that much (IMO)

What Rene's worth and what price Peterborough are willing to sell might be miles apart. I believe he is under contract with Posh until 2011, and they aren't exactly short of cash these days. I believe the term is called "holding all the aces."

There is actually a whole 2 page thread about Carlton to Darlo elsewhere on the forum.

I hope we offer him a contract when his current deal at Carlisle runs out. It hasn't gone well for him up there so I can't see Carlilse offering him a new deal. The only concern is that clubs with greater financial clout at our level, such as Darlo, will be interested in him.

There is no way we'll more for Howe than we did for Baker, especially in this 'dark times'. Also is Danny on loan to Darlo if so we may still poach him in the summer.

Seen a few threads about Rene recently, and people hinting that we could afford to buy him. Maybe so. But could we afford his wages? I assume Peterborough will be paying towards what he earns now, and being on a contract with a League One club I assume it will be more than we can afford. Would he take a drop in wages at his age to play at Morecambe?
I doubt it, but just my opinion :D

I heard we are paying 50% of his wages of around 3k a week whilst Peterborough continue paying the other half. This is probably too much for us and i'm sure there will be plenty of other clubs in League 2 that are willing to pay that. It ultimately comes down to Rene's feeling towards the club and if he can put up with playing regularly for less money.

As things stand it would appear that we cannot afford the half we are paying to Renee Howes wages.

incidentally , peterborough have just paid £100.000 for Bishop yesterday (striker not priest)

Howe can't be worth more then 60k, surely? Anyway, with us being right up against our wage budget, I doubt we can afford to keep him. He'd be one of (if not) the top earner at the club if he did imo.

Also i dont think Howe is good enough to be our leading wage earner, the fact he has been spoilt with high wages doesn't help for small clubs like us trying to sign him. In the end it will all come down to money and if Howe will take the wage cut.

Ah-ha! Not so fast with your declaration of un-challenged bragging rights!! For Mr S may have been incorrect in his assumption that Mr C was asking a question, for Mr C may in fact have simply been pointing out that had made an assumption that the word 'pay' was missing, leaving the way open for others to add their assumptions too. So nerrrrr

And if CC happens to disagree with this assumption, he is soooooo banned! :o
