Some of the reactions on here are laughable. Despite not witnessing the incident people are quick to judge. Not sure where the criticism of Ellison has come from. He pushes boundaries but always plays within the rules, yet some are suggesting he has a disciplinary issue. A dislike of him seems to have emerged recently which astonishes me. He was old when we signed him and he usually does look his age however despite being anonymous for large periods of games he still offers a lot in the final third.

As for the ban, if it is for merely pulling some guys hair then that's a ridiculous decision by the FA. Having said that we don't know the facts.

kevin would have fully realised a reaction to his action was highly likely and therefore, incited an ugly incident,so its more than just ''pulling someones hair'' , I think the punishment is warranted.

I like Kevin a lot, but to say he always plays within the rules is ridiculous.

Other than Cheltenham (?) has he been sent off against anyone else? Kev is clever he knows what he can get away with. Some people mistake him for a mindless idiot who has just been lucky not to see more reds.

Can only accept about the dread locks being pulled, but as the players left the field a number of the WW players and staff started to taunt our lot which considering what had been going on throughout the game with little action by the referee only made matters worse.

It seems that refereeing mistakes and the antics of the WW players throughout the match don't warrant any action by the authorities.....

They both admitted a charge of 'violent conduct', so no other outcome than a retrospective 'red card' & three match ban.

Kev's a wind-up merchant and an excellent Morecambe player. On this occasion, he's gone a bit too far, but as someone else mentioned, how often has he actually been sent off?

Is Kev turning in to the 'new' 'old' Drummie, where some people are simply on his back because he's getting on a bit?

thats what I'm detecting, I already mentioned it on another thread, comparing him to the new Drummond.

I actually didn't think he played all that bad the other night, could not give a toss about pre season games and how he played at the back end of last season, with a small squad.

They say strikers are judged by their goals, so shall we all judge Mullin and Miller?

Note! Although I admit Jim does tend to favour him when he's making substitutions, when Kev clearly looks tired out, but like Jim said in a rant last season, he's always a goal threat in the box.

anyway, back on topic, today quinny said on radiol ancashire that the actions of the two players was 'stupid' and he saw the video evidence and it was 'pretty damning' so there you have it, childish bullying antics have been punished accordingly, and our squad suffers as a result, jim said today that his squad is stretched, and players were knackered 70 minutes in.

My assessment of the season so far is that we have been really unlucky with injuries and now bans to two players but I have really enjoyed watching this Morecambe team so far compared to recent seasons when many games were pretty tedious and frustrating to watch.
I feel we are missing Hughes at the back who was certainly a good defender but we have to move on.
At least when Murphy returns it will be like a new signing again and I also think that these opening fixtures have been against teams who will be nearer the top of the league than the bottom, apart from Accrington!!!
It's all part of the joys of watching Morecambe! It was ever thus and always will be.
Keep the faith!!
