O/T Fans United – Protest Day at Blackpool May 2nd

Postby Blackpool fan » Tue Mar 31, 2015 7:52 am

You know that day when the fixtures come out and the first thing we all do is look for our best away trip? And who the last game be will against? And sometimes it’s one of those when it all comes together and we’re going away on the last day to the seaside on a Bank Holiday jolly-boys. Most of you might have looked for a Blackpool weekender in your fixtures – there isn’t a league recently we haven’t been in!

Well this season, we’re inviting you all to have one with us – including Preston! We reckon it might be your last chance – no doubt we’re going down this year – but that’s not half the story. We’re in serious danger of dropping out of the leagues altogether. What’s been done to us in the last few seasons could happen to any club in the country – there’s nothing in the way the modern game is run to stop it. We’re organising a massive fans united protest to stand shoulder to shoulder with other fans on May 2nd at Blackpool. We’re inviting any of you that fancy a Blackpool trip on the last Saturday of the FL to come and show unity with other like-minded fans and show those that run the game that we can’t be ignored.

Unless you have a great run-in and make the play-offs come the last game your season might be already be decided – so if that's the case please come to Blackpool and get some cheap beer, a cheap B&B maybe and meet others who care about what used to be our game and our way of life.

In the words of another former club chairman, the owners of Blackpool ‘trousered the lot’ of the Premiership windfall. What you probably don’t know is that they are taking fans through court for alleged libel, extracting money and apologies from us to stay out of court, goading us on message boards, and abusing fans with disabilities in personal texts (see FA text-gate investigation). We have to watch our step and what we say. But they can’t stop us boycotting and protesting. It’s our club, we want it back. It could be your club, and you wouldn’t stand for it either!

We want the last day to be our party. We know many of you from games in recent seasons or we’ve stood with you on England duty in years gone by. We know we’re stronger together than divided. We won’t stop fighting them – we even have our own independent candidate standing in the General Election on May7th – you can show your support for him by liking the

Come and join us on May 2nd and show what real fans can do together.

Sympathise with your plight, Blackpool Fan. Shame it's on a football day and we are at home to Southend. You will get more support than we will!

Will never forget that Wembley weekend 8 years ago when both you and us got promoted. we have managed to stay where we are, while you have gone up like a rocket and now down like a lead balloon!

Have fun playing Fleetwood next season and maybe us the season after?

Good luck!

Can't see nobbers fans that bothered about Blackpool more like they will have a party.

However very sad how it all comes to this when a few years back you did the double over Liverpool in the premiership.

Hope things change, surprised the Fleetwood chairman has not come knocking.

Good Luck.

Fleetwood chairman is a massive Blackpool fan - as is the AFC Fylde chairman - the Oystons will not relinquish our club from their cold dead hands unfortunately.

I remember the weekend - I also remember you scored a corker on the Friday night - all the lads in the pub cheered - good to see you boys doing well .....

If we'd had a long trip away from home, you may have had a few come down the coast, but a home game and a few pints to close this season will probably keep Morecambe fans oop north.

The 'fit & proper persons' test or whatever the FA called it doesn't appear to count when it comes to owners raping a club blind. As for Andy Pilley, I said a few years ago that he wants to make Fleetwood the biggest club on the Fylde coast. Nothing has changed my mind on that one.

Good luck.

So how did that work out then?

Yep that's a fair shout - AP still loves Pool (a few of my mates were with him at the weekend v Dead End) but it's absolutely great what he is doing - big development taking place in Thornton-Cleveleys wit the training complex - - - - - just think of the good progressive work he would have done with all those premiership millions.

Many predict FTFC will overtake us next year and in 2 years AFC Fylde will be above us .... if they don't keep messing up during the run-in.

If you can spread the word about our protest event we'd appreciate it - - hope we play you boys at some stage btw - will be a be a new ground for us ..

UPDATE : We are reliably informed that Blackpool's chairman is threatening the council with legal action if the protest is allowed to go ahead.

Quite fitting to hear of such democratic practices as we enter election season.
