Is our pitch covered?

Is our pitch covered?

Postby sgt major » Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:29 pm

Not wanting to cause alarm atc, but is our pitch going to be fit for Tuesday in the fact we have now had two days of cold weather and the notorious state of the South Stand goal area.

Do we need to get the braziers out NOW like Rochdale tried last season????

Was the pitch covered on Saturday??

Sorry for gloom and doom but preparations need to be made at Morecambe and Cheltenham.

Yes you're right. Remember Shrewsbury and Hereford games in the past that were postponed?
Forecast says it won't get a bit milder till Wednesday/Thursday :(

Valid points being made here. Can't be doing with another postponement or worse still abandonment.

Covers over the south end would be advisable, but I expect Chesh & co will have it all under control as usual. Forecasted temperatures fittingly rising on Tuesday p.m. and should hold out for the game. Scroll forward to Tuesday and Tues night  http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/ ... st/#no_url

If only we could have channled the hot air on here in the last 24 hrs straight onto the pitch!

I could have personally kept the area by the Away end frost free!

Still think it will be touch and go for Tuesday as the frost is bound to get into the ground as the cold spell continues for the next couple of days.......

It's the same BBC who said our game was called off due to floodlight failure.

You're seriously asking if we can rely on anything the BBC say?

We played away at Bournemouth last Tues..... :x

BBC called us Scunthorpe... :?

I am reliable informed that the "south end of the ground, from wing to wing, is covered and has been since about 4:30 today"

This from a fairly ( ;) ) trustworthy source.

Sorry Rod! LOL
