BRILLIANT RESULT, considering our injuries :!: Bloody excellent :!:

Some other interesting ones;
Curzon Ashton 3 V Exeter 2 :o
AFC Telford 2 V Southend 2 (after Southend equalised in 90+ mins)
Carlisle 1 Grays 1
Histon 1 Swindon 0

Great performance considering the injuries for us, particularly in the 2nd half as we pushed forward for the second goal.

Grimsby were gash though - agressive and nasty, don't know how they got through the match without getting any bookings. Poetic justice when their keeper made a hash of our second goal after laying out O'Carrol a few minutes before.

With such a lengthy injury list, the last thing Morecambe needed was another wounded troop – and Yates was forced off with a gashed leg to be replaced by Ryan McCann.

One comment I heard was "you can see the bone".

Well deserved especially when you consider the injuries we have at the moment. Two well taken goals by Taylor and a strong performance by the midfield, Drumond is getting better with every game, the defence was solid as well.

Basically a good team performance, hopefully we can continue this improvement and pick up three points at Chester.

Roche - 6 Nothing to do really.
Adams - 6 Solid.
Bentley - 6 Solid.
Yates - 6 Just hope he's ok.
McStay - 7 Good game I thought.
Wainwright - 7 Didn't see enough of the ball but did well when he had it at his feet.
Drummond - 6 Got stuck in.
Stanley - 7 Plenty of energy.
McLachlan - 7 I think he tries long balls a bit too much but worked hard and broke up play.
Taylor - 7 Good game, well taken goals.
O'Carroll - 6. Did well to set up the second goal but wasn't spectacular.

McCann - 6. Solid.

...and the Grecians' Matt Gill got a straight red late in the game, just like against us at Wembley. Oh, and Danny Carlton was an unused sub at Brunton Park....

Liked their midfield terrior Kalala....got stuck in and won nearly every header.

A crafty player who knows every trick in the book without getting into too much trouble from the ref.

with a decent referee Kalala wouldn't have survived until half time. He went in leading with his elbows every challenge and hurt several players.

...but that's being crafty and the sign of somebody who knows just how far to go.

I thought the referee had a pretty good game. Allowed the game to flow.
It's a mans game after all and that's how the referee viewed it for me. No complaints from me......but no doubt some will take issue with what I think.

Glad we won today. We have to show that we can beat poor sides.

For me Stanners, Macca and O'Carroll were the top performers. Danny Adams showed his quality first half and Wainwright was on the ball from the start.

Well done lads. Let's get behind the team. 8-)

But if he'd seen Proudlock swing his arm into Jimbo's face in the first half, he'd have been off.

I'll give you that one Shrimper, but overall I thought he had a good game. However it sounds as though our friends from across the country think otherwise. Even suggesting that our second came as the result of a foul by one of our players.

Never saw it.....honest :? :? :?

Good win today, and but for their late goal would have been a second consecutive clean sheet, which has to be pleasing.

I think Neil Wainwright needs a mention for playing in the left wing back role. He's one player who has played on the right wing, left wing, now left wing back and probably a role that's unfamiliar to him. It's to his credit that he gets on with the job and does whatever he's asked.

It's only 2 games won, but as they say, from little acorns etc...With the team getting used to the system it might just make us harder to beat. If we can get the odd win at home and draw away, we might eventually make the magic 50 points, although I suspect 40 may well be enough bearing in mind the teams on minus points.

Good result but quality of football was poor, the ball was in the air and going backwards far too much and not enough passing to feet. :( :(

I'm not letting this topic die just yet because I have never known us to have such an injury list before which makes this score line even more remarkable :!: How many have we got being treated now :?: With virus's etc, is it 11 :?:

Bloody hell........the team picks itself.

Q. Can you walk?

A. Yes.

Well put a shirt on, you're playing.
