FT 1-1, still not what we needed, but better than a 5-0 defeat i suppose!

What a header!!! :) If anything, i thought we looked less like scoring when he went off...but he did well playing for the length of time he did, great assist from Howe aswell. :)

Great goal, but we desparately needed more pace with the substitutions to push on for the winner today. We saw more effort in the dying minutes earlier this season against Grimsby but today we were lacking and I think 1-1 was a just result. I don't want to sound too negative but thank god teams have been deducted points as we may be looking over our shoulders all season :?

I thought a draw was a fair reflection of the game today, why do we perform so badly in the first half of nearly every game we play, is it something to do with the pre match warm up, or a question of attitude, its like we are a different team after the break.

It shouldn't take a half time bollocking to get the players going but that seems to be the case.

Confidence is obviously a factor, once we scored several players lifted their game, i would have liked to have seen Taylor stay on for a bit longer though, we lost a bit of momentum when he went off, good to see Yates back in the side settled in like he hadn't been away.

Taylor was so tired though if you saw him!

Yes it was great to say Yates back in the team. Like Stanners - he adds a bit of oomph and drive.

Well done Yatesy and also McStay for doing well when they haven't featured for a while.

or...

Is it because we start out trying not to concede, then when we do, we have to start chasing the game? First half we were [apparently] hoofing the ball up the pitch... "three passes is the most we managed [in the first half]". In the second half we played some "nice football". I watched the Man Utd match in the pub, don't recall Van der Sar kicking the ball long once (certainly not from about the 40th minute when I started watching out for his kicks). I genuinely think that we can play decent football. I don't think we're very good at a long ball game. I don't think we're very good at the "win games 1-0" style either. So why not go and play without fear and try to win from the off rather than once we're behind?
