Penalties

Penalties

Postby Heysham_Shrimp » Mon Mar 28, 2011 4:23 pm

we seem to have given a lot of penalties away this season.

Does any statto out there know :-

(1) How many have we conceded

(2) How many of them have been scored

(3) Which of our players have conceded the penalties and how many have each conceded

Keiran Charnock seems to have conceded a few considering he's only been here a short time.

I'm sure the Football League show said it was 9, but that might just be in the League :?

10 league 1 cup (Burnley) 11 total

6 at home, 5 away

3 For Hunter
2 apiece for Charnock and Parrish.
1 for each of Hurst, Moss, Scott and Shuker.

8 second half penalties, 3 in the first. Average time of penalty conceded of 57 minutes.

9 scored, 2 missed (Bradford and Stevenage home). If you add back the goals against from penalties only four results would remain unaffected (one being Burnley). +13 points to our current total.

You heard it here first.

2 against Wycombe.

After 36 minutes at their place; 35 minutes at ours - both converted by Rendell!

Duffy missed a pen against somebody early on in the season at home.... actually, who hasn't Duffy missed a penalty against?

2 also for Accrington home and away both scored by Edwards, both conceded by agent Charnock (former Stanley player).

I can't remember us conceding a penalty in either fixture against Stevenage, although I'm usually drunk. I think the 9 league pens is correct. There was an article a week or so on the FL website saying that we had conceded the most penalties in league two at eight, which is obviously increased to 9 since the Wycombe match. Crystal Palace had conceded 11!

The ten (edit we did concede a penalty against Stevenage, 48 mins....probably still in the bar):

Accrington home & away, Charnock with both
Wycombe home & away, Hunter & Shuker
Southend home, Hursty
Burton away, Scott
Barnet home, Hunter
Northampton away, Parrish (Handball)
Bradford home, Parrish
Stevenage home, Hunter (Handball)

Yes

9 scored, 1 missed (Bradford).

As suggested earlier

And then again if you missed it.

So calamity Joe has a 100% success rate of saving penalties, Barry Roche a less respectable 0%.

Yes, in the 0-0 draw on 23rd October 2010 Stevenage had a penalty kick which was missed!

I stand corrected, you are right apologies littleshrimp. I'll edit my first post just so it doesn't get confusing. Hunter handball during the second half. So thats three for Hunter, who thus far with a bit of head scratching has conceded the most penalties.
