Aye, those games in hand are gradually going for a burton. Our next home game which just happens to be against them will be real squeaky bum time.

I wonder if Burton will put on free transport for their fans?

Our three home games are Burton, Hereford & Northampton. Could the last game be a winner take all game to stay in the league ??????

With away games at Rotherham, Gills, Crewe & Port Vale, all play-off chasing teams, my arse is definitely squeaking.

Burton are down to 9 men, with both their centre backs sent off and concede another

Barnet are at Burton on Saturday. If Barnet win that then :o

Today was the 1st of 11 games in 34 days for Burton, that is a hell of a lot of games in a relatively short space of time. When you factor in the suspensions and any injuries they might pick up then the games in hand might not be that big an advantage.

After that they have a week off till their last game of the season at home to Accy, that could be a huge game for both clubs.

It's amazing how it's panned out. When the end of season often sees two teams who have nothing to play for playing each other, we have 3 home games against fellow relegation strugglers and 3 away games against teams fighting for promotion/play off places. All to play for, let's polish our tin hats ready for battle.

Picture the last day of the season with us and Northampton on 48 points with Barnet on 46.

Knowing Barnet would have to beat Port Vale by 3 clear goals to make up the goal difference, would the Shrimps and the Cobblers have a pre match handshake?

(of course this is fictional as it could never happen)

Its certainly different from previous seasons where we have been going into the last game needing something from it or hoping that other results go our way to get into the play offs.

Probably just as exciting but for all the wrong reasons.

Looking at Barnet's fixtures, even an optimistic Barnet fan would not think they could get much more than 10 points, so we probably need just one more win to be okay, or three draws.

Burton need to win two of their four games in hand to go above us. Three from four if we beat them. That is a HUGE game for us. If we win we will be almost safe, lose and we are going to be crossing everything for a few more weeks.

If Hereford hadn't won today they would have been in the soft and smelly. Their entire run-in with the possible exception of the Brats at home look hard to pick a win.

I can see Barnet beating Burton Crewe and Port Vale from their last matches.

Stockport if they hadn't beaten the Shrimpers yesterday would have already been programming the coach satnav with places like Histon and Barrow !!

Northampton could be the surprise team to plummet into the Conference.

I stick by my theory that 4 more points will do it for us and it would help if 3 of the points came from the Brewers.

and it would greatly benefit our chances if the manager played his best team by recalling Craig Stanley and playing Haining at centre half with Parrish reverting to right back.

Andy Parrish has played in all the places across the back 4. He nearly scored a hat-trick yesterday. I think it is time to play him centre forward

He's had plenty of opportunity to do this and chose to ignore the writing that's on the wall

We could make that game slightly less crucial by winning at Rotherham :) and why not?
We beat Chesterfield!
