o/t - Roy Keane SACKED

Another manager has bitten the dust this morning.

It does appear as though far too many Chairmen are wielding the axe this season.

Obviously, football is a results game, but there is this pre-conception that Chairmen get edgy about the R word far too quickly...

No doubt the next man in at Portman Road will have much the same issues, and concerns about how long they will last!

Why do so many Chairmen/women react in such a "knee-jerk" way when dealing with managers!?

Alan Curbishley or Paul Jewell favourites to replace him according to TalkSport. Press conference at Portman Road at 11am.

I like Roy Keane, but his managerial style surely let's him down? Whenever you see him on the bench, he is just stood there arms folded leaning on the dugout. Doesn't seem to have any motivational skills.

Still, there must be something there within him. Look how well he did for Sunderland.

I never felt Keane & Ipswich would ever make a great match he doesn't really fit in with the image of Ipswich.

He has struggled a bit since going there last season they were bottom for quite a while and looked like they could go down if the chairman had been trigger happy he would have gone then but he has given him a chance to try and build and it's still not happening for whatever reason.

When the new chairman came in and invested a bt of money I think he was thinking of been at the other end of the table.

George Burley is a free agent again but I think Curbishley would be a good choice for them.

I think Ipswich are a similar club to Charlton especially the position they were in a few years ago before they got promoted to the Prem.

Roy Keane has spent £8 Million and Ipswich are still cannon fodder. Why give him more money to waste??? I think he does have some qualitites to be a decent manager, but I believe that he needs to discover those talents at a lower level. Thus far he has had two cushy jobs. In relative terms given the money he has spent you'd have to say that he has been average at best.

p/t indie i agree.

but Ipswich in my opinion were better keeping roy keane until the end of the season and i have seen worse teams in the championship than ipswich.

are ipswich like charlton yes of course but if ipswich are stupid by sacking roy keane then they can be in league1 next season.
